1. Purpose

Let's face it, computer equipment fails. When it fails, you experience inconveniences and expenses you had not planned on. Inconvenience is one thing, but unplanned expenses can be tough to overcome. Consistent with our commitment to provide you with an enjoyable and affordable internet experience, we are offering a Hardware Service Program that will minimize your unplanned expenses and inconvenience due equipment failure after the warranty period expires on the wireless equipment installed at your home or business.

2. Rationale

The wireless equipment we use to provide you with an internet connection is expensive. That panel we installed on your home is not simply an antenna. Behind the visible panel is a complex routerboard operating specialized software combined with a sophisticated radio that converts computer data into radio waves and radio waves into data. We call the entire assembly a CPE, short for "Customer Premise Equipment". Depending on the configuration, our CPEs range in cost from $250 to $400. Not only are the CPE's expensive, so is the time, training and equipment needed to keep competent staff available to service that equipment. For example, the typical cost to replace a defective CPE will range from $400.00 to $550.00. Up until recently, Zeta has shouldered most of this cost as a goodwill gesture for out of warranty replacements. Due to the size of our client base, we can no longer justify absorbing this cost.

3. Responsibility

Using our equipment is analogous to leasing a car. In the leasing business, you do not own the product you use, but you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the product. After the initial warranty period, repairs are the responsiblity of the users.

4. Timing

For those of you thinking that you will wait until you have a problem to sign-up, please consider the following. If you sign up now, and a problem develops next month, your agreement will cover you 100%. If you experience a problem without having signed up for the Hardware Service Agreement, the repair costs discussed above will apply. We will however, extend a 30% discount on the cost of the repairs if you do sign up for the Hardware Service Agreement with the repair.

5. Pricing

The cost of our Hardware Service Agreement is $7.99 per month and a one time set up fee of $29.99.

6. Terms

Below are the terms as they appear in our Hardware Service Agreement;

  • 1. Zeta shall perform repairs on equipment installed to achieve a wireless internet connection. Covered Repairs are limited to the antenna, radio, routing device, cabling, power supply and mounting brackets.
  • 2. Covered Repairs include both phone support and on-site support for diagnosing and repairing covered equipment.
  • 3. Covered Repairs will be performed in the same timely manner as Zeta performs all repairs.
  • 4. Covered Repairs shall be performed at no charge.
  • 5. Covered Repairs shall not include weather related damage or damage due to other causes outside of the control of Zeta.
  • 6. Covered Repairs do not include any devices attached behind the power supply provided by Zeta.
  • 7. Customer agrees to pay the published monthly Hardware Service Agreement fee in effect.
  • 8. Customer’s account with Zeta must be paid current and in good standing before Covered Repairs will be performed.
  • 9. Customer agrees to assist Zeta staff in performance of diagnostics prior to Zeta performing an on-site support call.
  • 10. The HSA is a month to month agreement unless the facts of Paragraph 11 apply.
  • 11. If Zeta performs repairs for the Customer under the HSA, Customer agrees to maintain the agreement until the cumulative amount paid by the Customer for the HSA equals or exceeds the retail cost of the repairs performed.
  • 12. Zeta shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including lost profit or business interruption arising from any Covered Repairs.
  • 13. This HSA constitutes the entire agreement between Zeta and the Customer. This HSA may be modified or amended only in writing. Rights under this HSA are nontransferable. Waiver of any provision of this HSA in one instance shall not prevent future enforcement.
